Free text categories for soapboxes
Finally got to this, this is something that I've been debating for quite some time. Now you can create a soapbox post and give it whatever category you would want. This category gets listed under the updated Browse Category function alphabetically.

Moderation
One of the things we're trying to do here at Kz is to cut back on the amount of "spam" or posts that violate our terms of use in order to provide a quality community.
We've signed on some help in this department, and I've just put in the code that will allow us to help moderate the postings. Here's how it works:

1. A post is flagged. (yes this works)
2. After the post is flagged, an email is sent to our moderator team, which will examine the post for any discrepancies.
3. If it does require moderation, a comment is left on the post with what needs to be changed. The poster is notified of the need to modify the posting.
4. Once done modifying the post, the poster can notify the moderation team that their post is ready for review.
5. The moderating team checks out the updated post and either activates it, or leaves further feedback.
6. There are, of course, some types of posts that just won't be in line with the spirit of KaZuum, not matter how they're modified. Any blatant or outrageous violations will be shut down.


Of course, you can get around this whole thing by creating private or group only based postings - sharing information amongst your friends is something that we'll never be able to mess with.
For the general population, however, this is just how it goes. Hope this helps in trying to make KaZuum a better place for everyone to post their classifieds.

New Browse by Category
It's a start, but you'll notice a new "browse category" button beneath the search box.
This gives you a view of the expanded category list for all postings, so if you're bored or you're like me and want to see what everyone seems to be posting, go and click away.
I just realized you might also want to just post directly to a category if you've browsed to it, I'll add that in shortly. Have a great weekend everyone!

Profile deletion: heaven forbid you would ever want to delete your profile, but we admit that this sort of thing does happen.
Added this in your profile section, under delete. You will need to have your password for it.

I've been trying to field everyone's category requests, will get to that this weekend.

Hey everyone!
The long and short of it is, KaZuum's had a serious set back the past month, some drama but we've been able to move past it.
I'm trying to rebuild the categories database and will be having the help of lionhead chris tomorrow on it.
Aside from that please bear with me, there's certain things not working, but I'll be handling them in due time.

[[9.7.08] Outbound links in posts
Those of you who have outbound links in your posts, please use the Post Links feature instead.
We're doing this to try to conserve outbound linkage in KaZuum to make it more attractive to Google's SEO crawl.
This benefits both the site and your posts as it will drive up KaZuum's pagerank, and make it easier for people to find your post on Google.

I've changed the feed mode to an anonymous subscription model to cut back on spam and stuff that might be annoying to everyone.
So basically if you want to keep tabs on a friend, go to your friends list, then click the "m" letter under actions.
This tells KaZuum when you want to know when something about that user has changed. Right now, it's limited to:
New posts
added a friend
changed a picture
updated their profile
updated their status
more stuff forthcoming.


There's 3 types of notifications on KaZuum - email, system, and feed alerts. These are managed in Settings > notifications,
so you can receive emails or not regarding your subscriptions.
